Do Betta Fish Have Eyelids?

Betta fish owners often notice that their fish never seem to close their eyelids, blink or fall asleep: they just constantly keep their eyes open!

This leads us to wonder: do betta fish have eyelids at all?!

You may be surprised to hear that the answer is no! Betta fish do not have eyelids.

You’ll never see your betta fish close their eyes – as they can’t – but for a betta fish with no eyelids, this is perfectly normal.
